What an amazing film.

I can’t believe I never saw it before or that it didn’t really get much attention when it came out. It was released at that bad slump of animated films that no one seemed to watch (late 90s, early 2000s), when 3D was exciting and too many mediocre 2D animations were being released. But this one definitely deserved more attention.

I don’t understand how we keep missing old(ish) great movies like this one. We’re too concentrated on experiencing what’s new (even if it’s crappy) instead of seeing media as something that is timeless that we could watch anytime in our life. There’s a lot of recent films I’d like to watch as well, but the hype machine keeps fooling me into treating those as old and passed. I can’t let myself be fooled.

I’m adding it to my favorite films of all time without question.
