Einstein’s Secret to Amazing Problem Solving (and 10 Specific Ways You Can Use It)

It’s great to come up with ideas: I come up with so many (often half-baked) ideas I write them down somewhere and move on. However, Ideas are for the most part shallow.

The really important thing is to state a problem, the thing you’re trying to solve. You may have certain ideas to make something appealing, but where you really need to start is to ask the questions to the problem, and come up with many solutions.

For example, while apple came up with a cool phone, they probably started with questions about solving the real problems with smart phones; the multitouch is icing on the cake, not the reason why the phone came to be.

In games, it’s the same thing. Often times we get caught up in the ideas. Perhaps this is why they often remain quite gimmicky and forgiving.
