Our Exhausted Fantasies
There’s so many fantastic characters and settings, though most of them have been exploited to death: The past, the future, the paranormal, space, time travel, the apocalypse, fairy tales, the renaissance, the land of the dead, LOTR-like (medieval?) fantasy and fantasy creatures, kings, princes and princesses, knights, cowboys, ninjas, pirates, vampires, werewolves, witches and wizards, detectives, Indiana Jones and lookalikes, military and war, terrorists, space marines, steampunk, cyberpunk, superheroes, cops, criminals, mobsters, unicorns, pandas, farmers, celebrities, rock stars, robots and androids, zombies, monsters, and more.
Is that it? Is that all we as humans wish to fantasize the most through books, movies, and games? Why is there so much crap that comes out every year based on this list?
